Come to my courtyard studio or I can come to you. Honour Sessions take precedence and I make every effort to schedule quickly. With patience and care, I will capture a perfect image:
a portrait that best shows your friend.
Then the creativity starts...
I edit and print on fine art velvet paper, mounted on archival board. The perfect portrait can end or start there. If you choose, I will add hand details of gold leafing, gemstones, calligraphy, drawing. As a memorial tribute, if you wish, I can incorporate ash as part of the gold leafing. I will collaborate with you, ensuring that your sentiments and thoughts are part of the art. It is a beautiful experience resulting in a beautiful image.
My name is Heidi Eder. My superpower is photographing animals.
Believe it or not, this is my most telling self portrait. For 10 years I photographed over 5,000 animals: some for the East Bay SPCA in NorCal, some for private clients. All were memorable.
I used to photograph anything and everything. Now I only focus on the images that make my heart sing.
Or bark. Or meow.
